Choose a company for a specific reason
Start with your target role, travel area and skills. Check the company's activities and the profiles it wants to receive. A directory listing does not mean it is hiring. On the platform, “Accepts CVs” identifies a company registered to receive applications; it does not promise a vacancy.
Tailor your CV to the role
Put your target role at the top of your CV. Describe relevant experience, tools and training with specific, verifiable examples. In construction, these could include a type of project, a technical skill or a qualification you actually hold. Check your contact details and export a readable PDF.
Write a short, personal email
A subject such as “Speculative application — roofer” makes your request clear. Introduce your profession, explain why you are contacting this company and suggest a conversation. Avoid repeating your entire CV. The availability you state must reflect your actual situation.
Check your documents before confirming
Select the right document and check the company name. The platform asks you to authorise sending your CV to the chosen recipients. Replies go to your verified email address. Do not add identity documents or confidential information unnecessarily.
Keep track of your applications
Record the date, company and replies received. You can add replies and interviews in your workspace. Delivery to a mail server does not prove the recruiter read your CV. An application guarantees neither a reply nor a job: keep applying and adapt your approach to the feedback you receive.
